Macbeth with Sweet Thunder Shakespeare

Macbeth is dark, grotesque—and fun. Sweet Thunder Shakespeare approaches the play with wit and sheer theatrical pleasure, creating a production that is both understandable and enjoyable.

Presented through the Douglas Morrisson Theatre’s Incubation Program, Macbeth draws on Shakespeare’s original actor-audience relationship. Sharing the same light, performers speak directly with the audience as music, movement and dance erupt from the action. Elements often cut from modern productions return, while unconventional casting and an ensemble developed through months of intensive training reveal the play’s humor, strangeness and humanity.

Experience a Macbeth that is immediate, communal and alive.
